Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore popularly known as UVCE,
is an engineering college affiliated to the Bangalore University, and
is located in Bangalore, India. The college was established in 1917, by
Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The college is approved by the AICTE
and the Government of Karnataka. The departments are accredited by the
National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. The admission of students to
the undergraduate courses is entirely on the basis of merit through the
Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the state government. The
entrance to post-graduate courses is through the Graduate Degree basis,
GATE and entrance test results.

The college has around 50 Ph D qualified staff members and around 20 more on the verge of completing and submitting the Ph.D thesis. The faculty has completed around 400 Research projects.The teachers are consultants to many industries, Banks and Organizations. UVCE is an excellent Research centre bringing together experts from academia, Industry and Government. It has awarded 76 Ph.Ds in the last three years and over 150 students have registered for Ph D programmes. UVCE is also a Quality Improvement Programme Centre for teachers.More than 90% of Post Graduate students undertake Internship or summer training at various Industries for a period ranging from 6 months to 1 year. The college produces 100% results. More than 2000 students involved in Research and have published Technical papers in International Conferences and Journals in the last two years.
