St. Joseph's College (SJC), Bangalore was established in 1882, is one of the oldest colleges in the State of Karnataka with a history of more than 130 years behind it. It has been accredited by the NAAC with A grade securing 3.73 out of 4 GPA. As a mark of recognition for its exceptional contribution to higher education, the Government of India recognized the college with a postal stamp and a first day cover in the year 2008. After examining the academic level of the college, St. Joseph’s was declared as an Autonomous College by the Karnataka Government in 2005 on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. In 2004, the college was declared as a College Of Potential Excellence by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
The college believes that establishing links between education and labor market is an important motivator for undergraduate and post graduate students pursuing their education. Establishing linkages between industry and institute also help faculty in incorporating the application dimension to their basic courses .The Centre for Skill Development and Placement, St Joseph’s College (Autonomous), a student run activity under the guidance of the Faculty Coordinator, has the following objectives.
